About the founder . . .
Rev. Joanne Burns is a Certified Spiritual Educator, Licensed Unity Teacher in both Adult Education and Youth Education and a Unity Minister with a specialty in Youth & Family Ministry.
She has served many years as a YFM Director in various churches across the US. Her first hand experience in the family, pastoral, program and corporate size churches in both a volunteer and staff capacity offers levels of insight that is a valuable asset to our movement.
She has worked with the Association of Unity Churches as a contributing writer of the “Youth & Family Ministry Guide”, contributed ideas toward best practices in YFM, curriculum writing projects, field tested new lesson plans for upcoming publication and served as a volunteer on the Education Services Ministry Team.
In addition, Joanne has worked at the International Y.O.U. as Conference Assistant overseeing the details to facilitate the annual Y.O.U. Conference while also acting as Head Sponsor for the international Peace by Piece Program. Joanne is a recipient of the Distinguished Youth Service Award from the Association of Unity Churches in 2002.
Currently, she is part time staff for the South Central Region as the Uniteen Consultant and Teen Ministry Trainer specializing in education for those serving with any age group within Teen Ministry. Joanne is extremely passionate about and dedicated to the creation of consistent and high quality spiritual education.
